First: Please follow the directions on the yellow graphic organizer and take about five minutes to complete.

Next: Use close read strategies and mark the text for the article on the back: Number the paragraphs Circle any words you do not know Highlight or underline anything in the article that was connected to the concept of equality Put a plus in the margin of the paragraphs you understand and a question mark next to the paragraphs you do not understand

Finally: You and your elbow partner will complete the 12 Tables graphic organizer. You will read the three different excerpts and answer the questions that follow.
