3 status of 2010 preparedness in terms of:  Telecoms: key infrastructure, risk profiles and resourcing Network communication channels Fibre optics – vulnerable to damages Pilot cables – possible thefts Telkom lines – Tetra network – no major risks The team will be focusing on critical networks

4 Operational Readiness – Information Technology  IT support: key operational IT system risk profiles, and internet support over the period - IT plans over the period Risk mitigation Backup servers installed on all critical services i.e. SAP, E/mail, IT personnel on standby on all critical installations

5 Operational Readiness – Communication  Communications: alignment of communication processes between roles players during normal and emergency conditions Tetra system will be used among these stakeholders City Power Eskom Security JMPD SAPS Transportation Other Joint Command Centre Venue Operating Centre

6 Operational Readiness – Security  Security preparations: pro-active and reactive security measure being put in place and level of integration between technical and security staff Security personnel in all major substations Random patrol on critical networks

7 Operational Readiness – Disaster Management  Disaster management: alignment between regional electricity preparations and city and provincial disaster management structures Draft document in discussion stage Deal with the local situation, escalations to city level and to the provincial level

8 Operational Readiness – Personnel  Mitigation plans on how personnel will be sourced and scheduled for the duration of the 2010 tournament Staff roster is now complete Staff will be stationed on all major sites supplying the affected venues Precinct - Staff will be on site 3 hrs before the game Outside precinct – staff on site 1 hr before the game
