Who Discovered Manganese? Manganese was discovered by Johann Gottlied Gahn Manganese was discovered in Stockholm Sweden in the year of 1774.

What is Manganese? Manganese is the 12 th most common element in the world and the 5 th most prevalent metal. It is a naturally occurring substance found at low level in water, air, soil, and food, and has no taste or smell.

What Does Manganese Look like? Manganese looks like a hard, brittle, grayish- white metal

Where Does The Word Manganese Come From? The name Manganese is derived from the Latin word magnes, meaning “magnet”.

Where Can You Find Manganese? Manganese can be found in Manganese nodules on the ocean floor, but these are currently unviable. Commercially Manganese is produced by reduction of its ores using aluminum.

What Are The Common Everyday Uses Of Manganese? Manganese is not one of your everyday elements in fact its most common uses were in some of the first types of batteries and even earlier as the metal of Spartans Armor and has been used in the Stone Ages.

Was Manganese Naturally-Made Or Man-Made? Manganese was naturally-made, the occurrence of Manganese came from in the atmosphere obtained from Pyrolusite, Psilomelane, Rhodochrosite.

What Types Of Compounds Do Manganese Have? The types of compounds that Manganese form are:  Manganese Dioxide ( MnO2)  Manganese Tetraoxide (Mn3O4)  Manganese Salts ( chloride, sulfate, carbonate, and nitrate)  Manganese Silicate  Potassium Permanganate (KMnO4)

What Are The Characteristics And Properties of Manganese? The Characteristics and Properties of Manganese are:  Density Melting Metal  Melting Point (k), 1246° C, 2275 ° F  Boiling Point- 2334(k), 2061 ° C, 3742 ° F  Atomic Radius- 135  Atomic Volume  Element Classification- Transition Metal Boiling Metal

What Are Some Uses of Manganese? Manganese is used for 4 main things such as:  Batteries  Ceramics  Steel  Glass Making

What Are Some Amazing Facts About Manganese? Manganese is added to improve the strength, toughness, stiffness, hardness, wear resistance, and harden ability of steels. Manganese my also be helpful for those with osteoporosis and osteoarthritis as well as individuals with premenstrual syndrome also known as PMS. Osteoporosis Osteoarthritis PMS
