Trick or Treating Children dress up in costumes and walk around their neighborhood with their friends. They go to their neighbors’ houses and say: “trick or treat!” Their neighbors then have to choose between giving the children a “treat”(candy) or receiving a “trick”(a prank or practical joke).

Most often, the neighbor will give the children a ¨treat.¨ Candy corn

Jack-o-lanterns Another popular tradition is carving jack-o-lanterns. To make a jack-o-lantern, you first take out the insides of a pumpkin. Then you carve a scary or silly face in the pumpkin’s side. Finally, you place a small, lit candle inside the pumpkin to make it glow.

Halloween parties College students and young adults often celebrate Halloween by having a costume party with their friends.
