Miss Gegre’s Class

Homework Every night except Fridays. It will usually consist of : Spelling, Reading, and Math. Occasionally there will be Grammar, Health, Science, and Social Studies. Planners will be stamped daily.

Spelling Each week there will be a new spelling list. Students will write their words in their planners. I will also post these words on my website. Homework will be assigned on Mondays and due Friday. The assignments will vary but will give the students options to pick assignments they feel most comfortable with.

Reading There will be a new story every week and a test on Fridays. During the year we will read at least one novel as a class. Each month there will be a reading log assigned at the beginning of the month and due at the end. Students are required to read 15 minutes a day for at least three days a week. We will also be involved with “Book-It”. Scholastic Reading Club- online code: L6FHK

Math New Program: Math in Focus Pretest on every chapter- this will not count for a grade but will help me assess where your child is. Major goal for the year: Multiplication

Rock Star of the Week Students are encouraged to bring in pictures to share with their classmates. Thursdays will be “Guess and Tell”. Fridays – “Current Events” and may bring in a snack. Please keep it peanut free.

Birthdays We do celebrate Birthdays in third grade. You may send in any snack you would like. Please keep it peanut free. Also, if you are sending out invitations, it cannot be done in the classroom. It must we passed out outside either before or after school.

Specials MONDAY: Music and Art TUESDAY: Gym WEDNESDAY: Gym THURSDAY: Library FRIDAY: Music Lunch 11:25-12:25

In a million words or less Please take a few minutes of your time to write some things about your child that you would like me to know and send it in with your child. You may also me as well.

Thank you for coming by! I am looking forward to a wonderful year!!!
