Why this webinar? Building airtightness is a key concern for Nearly Zero-Energy Buildings
Why this webinar?
A major challenge There exist a range of commercially-available products to achieve good building airtightness (see TightVent webinars on solutions), but Improving building airtightness is clearly a major challenge for the building sector – In many countries, it implies major changes in building traditions – One major change lies in the control as building regulations evolve
Trend towards the development of competent tester schemes More and more countries require explicitly airtightness testing for specific programmes or for a wide range of buildings This raises several issues linked to the quality of the airtightness measurement This boosts the development of competent tester schemes
Airtightness Testers Association Committee Set up and hosted within TightVent – At present, the participants are from Members: Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Sweden, and the UK Guests: Estonia, Ireland, Latvia, Poland Early contacts with: Croatia, Hungary, Netherlands, Norway The scope includes various aspects: – airtightness requirements in the countries involved – competent tester schemes in the countries involved – applicable standards and guidelines for testing – collection of relevant guidance and training documents Since September 2012, the committee has met five times (via internet) and first physical meeting held in June 2013
Objectives of this webinar To give information on initiatives taken to improve the quality of airtightness tests Today, with a particular focus on 2 countries (UK and BE)
