3 Emerging Technologies Program (ETP) Context

ET Program To support increased energy efficiency market demand and technology supply  Contribute to development and deployment of new and under-utilized energy efficiency (EE) technologies, practices, and tools (measures)  Facilitate the adoption of emerging technology as measures to support California’s aggressive energy and demand savings goals.

ET Program Objectives  Encourages adoption of new technologies that will assist in reducing energy usage or demand.  Statewide wide program that works collaboratively to screen, assess, and recommends technologies for adoption into our Energy Efficiency (EE) programs.  Success measured by number of new technologies adopted into EE program.

What Are The Utilities Looking For?  Aligns with the California’s Long Term Goals  Energy Savings  Has a DSM Program Portfolio Fit  Verifiable and Sustainable Savings  Behavior Change that Reduces Energy Usage  Commercially Available  Current Market Readiness  Market Barriers Addressed  Scalability of Technology

7 ET Open Forum Objective Give technology developers an opportunity to share their EE and DR innovations with wide audience Exchange knowledge, ideas and perspectives with stakeholders regarding Emerging Technologies efforts
