Textbooks should be replaced by laptops and computers

Textbooks harder to find Laptops cost money but so do textbooks

 Computers replacing textbooks is more convenient and useful

Books go out of date Books cost money to replace

Lots of free educational material online Quick and far more convenient than a big textbook

Textbooks require paper Cost of printing will go down if books are used less

 Every student will have access to all programs  If you have a cd for the laptop there is no need for ink or binding

 Lessons assembled from the wealth of free courseware, educational games, videos and projects on the web  Teachers will no longer have to deal with students complaining that they could not get to the library or lab to do assignments

 Books are extremely heavy and require paper

 Takes three months to get new books  There are sometimes a shortage of books

 Laptops make learning more interesting.  Allow for more interactivity with subjects by using multimedia methods.

 Has educational games,video’s and projects on the web

 Help teach remedial courses  Help meet testing requirements  Students learn better writing styles due to instantaneous corrections

 Laptops can enhance student learning overall  Can move a classroom toward a more collaborative method of learning

 Students write longer, more complete assignments  Due to the use of word processing and better resource searching ability

 Laptops allow students to become more enthusiastic and involved with their learning

 Laptops offer more project – based learning more › Motivation › Experimentation › Higher rates of peer mentoring

 Students will be free to explore the ability of the technology more completely

 Every student will have access to all programs
