Consideration of Approval to Adopt Math Resources Governing Board Meeting May 28, 2015 Mrs. Connie Witte

Background Information  Current adopted textbooks and instructional materials are not directly aligned to the new standards – Last adoption of materials H.S and Elementary 2005  Changes in standards and the increase in rigor requires a more comprehensive array of resources for teachers and students  Teachers need additional resources to meet the varied levels of their students and to provide differentiated and tiered instruction

Update on Funding for Purchase  Currently funding is not available for a district wide purchase. The decision to complete the review was a proactive measure taken by the C & I Department to be prepared in the event funds become available in the near future.  No district wide purchase will be made at this time.

Review Process Following district policy materials and resources were on review for a minimum of 60 days. During the review period the following occurred:  the program materials were available at the district office for all stake holders to review and provide comments  all materials were piloted at selected sites across the district  review sessions were held at various locations around the district
