“For every lesson, students need to be spending two hours revising”

 Help construct a revision timetable  Discuss what revision they are doing  Talk to them about what this will help them achieve in the long term  Setting revision targets  (1 hour study then 30mins leisure)  Allocate a quiet and distraction-free zone for their revision  Rewards  Time past papers  Be flexible- 80/20  Know when exams are

“What does ‘doing’ look like?” Practical Examples...  If students allocate a specific topic area to cover, they should attempt to reduce this down into:  3 main points  3 key word  1 important summative sentence  Students could create flash cards (questions on one side, answer on the other) and you could test them  Content – key studies / key definitions / key processes/ models etc  Are there any relevant documentaries / films you could watch with them and then discuss? Can they explain the key themes?  Apply – think of every day examples and ask them to explain it.  Get them to speak critically about the theory / study / process
