 For the safety of ALL our students, we ask that parents drop off their children only after 7:35am. All students will be allowed into the school at 7:35am. Please DO NOT leave your child unattended outside before this time.  To ensure the safe transitions of all students, parents will not be allowed in the school or to linger in the lobby/auditorium to speak with classroom teachers.  Please respect this request in order to maintain a safe, secure environment for our children.  First Grade is dismissed through the main entrance.  Students will be physically handed off to parents or other persons as designated on the emergency form.  NO student will be released to adults waiting in parked cars.  Please make sure everyone who picks up your child brings a valid ID and is on the pick-up list. Arrival & Dismissal

Attendance/Absence Notes/Punctuality: If your child is ill and cannot come to school or an emergency situation occurs, please notify the school BEFORE 9am. Please remember that a note from your child’s physician is necessary upon your child’s return to school. Any student who arrives after 7:50am will be considered LATE. Lateness affects and interrupts the academic learning of not only your child but their classmates, as well. At dismissal, it is important to pick up your child on time. Please be considerate and, if necessary, make other arrangements for pick-up.

 Cookies or cupcakes may be sent in to school with your child in the morning. PLEASE NO CAKE! No goody bags will be given out in class. Please send in a note 2-3 days in advance to let me know if you will be sending in treats for a birthday party.  **If a child is having a party at home, invitations WILL NOT be sent out from school unless the whole class is invited.**

Supplies/Money Please send in ALL payments in exact change or check- clearly labeled envelope with your child’s name and grade. Pencil Management: Pencils were placed in the classroom community container. Sharpened pencils will be available in the “Ready to write” bin for students who lose their pencils or break their pencils. Pencils that need to be sharpened will be placed in the “Sharpen” bin. This method keeps students from sharpening their pencils throughout a lesson – which happens to be a BIG distraction.

Bus Children  If for some reason you do not want your child to take the bus home at dismissal, we ask you to please send a note in advance.  If I do not receive a note, your child will be put on the bus. Verbal directions will not be accepted. It is good practice to call the main office, as well, to make sure the information has been received there.

Dress Code St. Anthony is a UNIFORM school. Students are expected to wear the school uniform with the appropriate shoes at ALL times. Gym Days (Monday): Grey sweats/shorts & grey shirt. Dress Down Day: $2/day ONLY on designated “Dress Down Day”. Please dress your child appropriately. NO FLIP FLOPS/SLIPPERS/HATS/HOODIES!

Lunch/Snack If you are ordering school lunch, please send in the lunch form and payment before the due date to ensure your child receives their lunch. If you are sending lunch, please make sure to send in a healthy nutritious meal in a lunchbox- labeled with your child’s name. Snack: (10am) PLEASE do not send in chips or candy. Sugary treats will not be allowed during snack time. Beware of portion sizes; remember this is a snack, not a meal. To avoid losing valuable classroom instructional time, snacks need to be eaten within 10 minutes and not messy.

Classroom Management Monthly Behavior Tracker

Homework Children who bring their homework late will be put in the homework book and points will be deducted. The child will receive an OOPS NOTICE and must complete it that night. The notice must be signed by a parent. If your child does not understand the HW, please send a note explaining the topic your child does not understand. I will do my BEST to further explain the assignment. Homework will be posted online. Please check out the school website for important information!

Tests & Test Folders Tests will always be announced in advance. Quizzes may or may not be announced. If a test is missed because of an absence, the student will be given two days to makeup the test. Thursday Test Folder- Graded tests are returned in the test folders on Thursdays, they must be signed by a parent and returned on Friday. If a child has a grade lower than 70, the child must take that test home on Friday to make corrections and return it Monday morning. Corrections must be checked and signed by a parent.

Religion & Faith All of our students participate in religion class, daily prayer, prayer services and Mass. Children whose parents are parishioners must bring their children to Mass and submit the envelope. The rectory tracks attendance by the envelope system. Parishioner status is rescinded if attendance is not maintained. If you are not Catholic, it is very important that you practice your faith with your child as well.

SCHOOL WEBSITE Please visit our website at SchoolHomePage SchoolHomePage You will find announcements, calendar, and homework for the week. Please support the policies of our school. Thank you for joining us this evening!
