4 Good Reasons Why Premises VoIP Is Not the Best VoIP Solution Available Implementation involves high startup costs for equipment, complex system configuration and wiring, and a jarring all-at-once transition. System Maintenance requires extra in-house staffing or expensive 3 rd party service contracts. ($ / hr.) Disaster Recovery is the buyer’s responsibility. Total interruption of service at all locations may occur in the event of hardware burnout, malicious network attacks, power grid failure, or natural disasters. #1: Implementation “Implementation involves high startup costs for equipment, complex system configuration and wiring, and a jarring all-at-once transition.” The Hosted VoIP Solution: The initial investment is limited to the purchase and installation of phones. No need for an expensive PBX switch. Phones come pre-configured or “plug-and-play”. Once connected to broadband, they are live in minutes without any complex wiring. To protect their service-critical equipment, hosted service providers typically “co-locate” servers in climate-controlled facilities. These sites are typically designed to weather natural disasters and have on-site backup power generators. 9
