Thomas Jefferson was an anti-federalist. He was born on April 13, Thomas was the third president of the United States. He later died on July 4, 1826.

Budget for the purchase was originally 10 million, but they spent 15 million for Louisiana. The Louisiana Purchase doubled the size of the United States, and stretched from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains. Fought Toussaint L’Ouverture to recapture Saint Dominique and lost during the Louisiana Purchase. And they then were hit with a deadly outbreak of the yellow fever during this time. On October 20, 1803 The Louisiana Purchase ended.

President Jefferson was concerned that federalist judges dominated the federal court system. He tried to appoint Republicans to any open judicial spot available. The supreme courts decision in the Marbury V.S. Madison case surprised many people including Jefferson. They agreed that Marbury had a legal right to his judgeship.
