When a student must be out because of illness or family business, please send a note or stating the reason for the absence the day your child returns or the absence will be considered unexcused. Please also call the office to inform them that your child will not be in attendance for that particular day.

Students will be given the same number of days to make-up their work as they were absent. For example: 3 days absent = 3 days to complete make-up work.

The first bell rings at 8:45. Please try to have your child on campus then. If your child arrives after 9:15, they must check in at the office in order to receive a tardy permit.

Changes this year… Report cards and interims will be generated from the PowerSchool Gradebook. Report cards and interims will include identified focus areas aligned with Common Core State Standards. Levels 1-4 will be utilized for grading purposes. We will no longer use 3* as levels 1-4 align with CCSS and PowerSchool. Powerschools Gradebook and the report card structure will eliminate the need for a profile card as the standards will be embedded. Due to the transition of the new program, the first quarter interim will be the only interim that is in the old form.

The 4th grade goes to Wilmington, NC for the day. All cleared chaperones are welcome. We are able to bring a few parents on the bus with us. The rest may drive themselves or carpool with other chaperones. More info and dates to come. MAKE SURE YOU REGISTER (SEE COMPUTERS IN BACK OF CLASS)

Keep in backpack: a jacket in case the room is too cool for your child and an umbrella in case of rain.
