CBSS TASK FORCE AGAINST TRAFFICKING IN HUMAN BEINGS DR. REDA SIRGEDIENĖ

2 CBSS Task Force against Trafficking in Human Beings: Overall Objective The CBSS TF-THB strives to counteract trafficking in human beings in the Baltic Sea Region and its near vicinity through preventive and protective activities Mandated to fight human trafficking for all forms of exploitation Implements joint activities and develops tools to enhance the counter trafficking work in the Region Emphasis on practical hands on work - inhouse project implementation Identify, Map, Assess - Address

Facilitate and promote co-ordination, exchange of knowledge, results and best practices among local, regional, national and international actors  2. Supporting stakeholders in combating and disrupting human trafficking as a criminal enterprise 5

6 Facilitate and promote co-ordination, exchange of knowledge, results and best practices among local, regional, national and international actors  3. Strengthening capacity and role of the municipalities to work against trafficking in human beings in the Baltic Sea Region

Involve diplomatic and consular missions in order to increase efforts to assist victims of trafficking, and eradicate trafficking in human beings in and to the Baltic Sea region 4. Involving diplomatic and consular missions of countries of origin, transit and destination in the CBSS Member States to increase efforts to assist victims of trafficking and eradicate trafficking in human beings in and to the Baltic Sea Region 7

Project ideas in pipeline  In - depth implementation of the guidelines in municipalities in Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Northwest Russia to strengthen work against trafficking in human beings.  Publishing of the Human trafficking – Baltic Sea Region Round-up report 2015 in order to create an easily accessible macro-regional snapshot which outlines the direction of counter trafficking work in the region. 8
