What accommodation would be reasonable? People who use wheelchairs may encounter a variety of obstacles at their workstations depending on their limitations. Height adjustable desk or table for a person who cannot work comfortably at an existing desk. Requesting that all work be done at home. Building a new office space according to the new employees specifications.
Good Effort BUT Please Try Again Under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), an Employer must provide a covered employee with a reasonable accommodation. Reasonable is defined, in part, by the size and ability of the organization to pay for the requested accommodation. Building a new office space is likely to be unreasonable due to the cost associated with this request.
Come on… Requesting that all work be done at home is likely to be an unreasonable request. Whether or not this is reasonable is dependent on the scope of the job description this person operates under. It is not reasonable to accommodate a person with a disability by changing the essential functions of the job. You can do it!
