Place- making

Colours, textures & feelings

Vox-pops 'Today has been very useful and has made me aware of other peoples’ needs. I realised through the workshop the effect of colour on peoples emotional state - we need to make it as uplifting and welcoming as possible’ ‘ The most important thing for me is to preserve the identity and history of the present surgeries to create a timeline from the past to the future’ ‘ I want to make sure this centre is accessible and friendly to young children’

Wayfinding ‘ The thing I have learnt from looking at the model is that children and parents with push-chairs have not really been taking into account – and why put the buggy park next to the quiet area?’

Youth Project

Coming together

Lessons Learned? No substitute for ‘ outreach’ approach and personal contact to involve people from seldom heard groups Don’t be afraid to move away from traditional formulas – rich benefits – ‘ Hearts and Minds’ still to be won Don’t assume people ( lay & professional) have the understanding and skills needed to facilitate and nurture participation

Develop & participate in governance train as peer ambassadors in final phase An ongoing resource e.g. design and review info for services Sustainability harness the knowledge skills & experience developed:
