Team 4 Smart Garden Irrigation System Chirag Tailor Michael Fields Pranshu Bansal

Motivation Not having to go outside to water plants. Not having to actively monitor plants. Saves time! Saves water! Saves money!

Implementation Fully automated system Monitors soil vitals through humidity sensor. Determines best time to water plant from probing temperature and brightness. Saves water by not watering plant if it has rained. Allows user to override system or set personal preference through app interface.

Background There are already smart sprinkler systems on the market, and the price is around 250 dollars before installation. We will make a cheaper more efficient system.

Goals We are going to learn to use many different sensors, learn about automation, and also learn to integrate these factors into a stand alone stable system. We will also learn android app development to create a user interface.
