By: Nicole Spruill

 General weather facts  Forms of Hazardous weather  Costs  Emergency Plan Preparedness  Conclusion

 The state of the atmosphere at any given time, with respect to the variables such as temperature, moisture, wind velocity, and barometric pressure.  Felt and effected by all living things at all times.  Can be both positive and negative.  A science that has been observed, documented, and has tried to be predicted for years.

 Precipitation ◦ Rain, Snow, Hail  Thunder  Tornados  Hurricanes/Cyclones  Floods  Drought ◦ Dust Bowl of 1930s  Heat Waves

 Some damage isn’t accessed until after a disaster. (ex. mold, water contamination, etc.)  Costs are heavy ◦ Monetarily ◦ Physically ◦ Emotionally ◦ Effects are felt regionally, and sometimes nationally and globally.  Safety  Assistance ◦ Repairs can take months or years to complete.

 Emergency Preparedness ◦ Be informed. ◦ Develop an action plan. ◦ Develop a kit. ◦ Get involved. ◦ Emergency Preparedness Emergency Preparedness

 Not all weather is hazardous, but it can become that way.  Can’t change the weather, you can be prepared for it.  What will you do to get ready for the bought of bad weather?

 
