Product Key Information The user must only enter the Product Key for SBS one time. Outlook ® Product Key will be integrated into the setup. The SBS and the Outlook Product Key will be shown in the following cases: Upgrade from SBS Upgrade from Windows 2000 Server or Windows Server 2003 Standard. Upgrade from time bombed to standard. Not shown in maintenance mode.

Internal Domain Information Screen This screen is only shown if the computer is not currently a domain controller. This screen will no longer be shown in maintenance mode.

Local Network Adapter Information This screen is only shown if there is more than one network adapter. User can select which network card will be used on the LAN.

External DHCP or Routable IP Warning Messages

Client Networking Configuration This screen is only shown if the user entered a routable IP address on the Local Network Adapter Configuration Screen.

Migration Requirements Internal domain names for servers must be different Server names (NETBIOS) must be different The source server will be decommissioned, so services such as DHCP will be offered by new server Migration uses ADMT and Exchange Migration Wizard (which means manual export of mailbox rules, Admin mailbox and public folders) Custom settings on new server have to be setup by hand DNS must be running on both systems during migration

Prepare for Migration Ensure the source server is running the latest service packs Back up the source server Collect system necessary information Export public folders, Administrator account mailbox and rules Disable DHCP on old system Install SBS 2003 on destination Server Complete up to network setup Notify users that they must log off of the domain.

Prepare Client Computers Export mail rules Remove personal firewalls Remove shared modem client (SBS) Remove ISA client if not using ISA 2000 on new server Release & renew DHCP addresses Delete any SBS specific links from desktop and IE Delete SBS faxes or printers

Computer Migration Tools For clients computers running an O/S of: Windows NT Workstation 4.0 or a member server running Windows NT Server 4.0 Windows 2000 Professional or Server Windows XP Professional, Windows Server™ 2003 Use ADMT to migrate users, groups and computers For client computers running an O/S of: Windows 95, Windows 98, or Windows Millennium Edition You manually configure See Whitepaper - “Step 6.
