Today’s PR Message

Times are Changing! …It’s important we ask ourselves the right questions in the current context

Should Our Approach to PR Change? …Expand your Target Publics, Stakeholder Audience and Tactical Channels …Realise Opportunity is Far Greater but we are all in a Fight for Attention …THINK BEYOND YOUR MEDIA TARGET GROUP

Start Thinking Community not Geography As media / content consumption is being liberated from geography. So should media / content supply Everybody is now local Everybody is now a stakeholder New Technology, New Participation, New Models Tactics are where geography and language come into play, but it should not be a starting point

….. the only opinion former that matters? Are you winning the battle of search with your message? Are you winning the battle of search with your competitors?

Who, What and Where of Stakeholder Search Do you know specifically: Who your search stakeholders are? What your search stakeholders are looking for? Where your search stakeholders are located? …in too many cases the answer is no

What is my Content Strategy? Make it accessible Make it easy to view Make is easy to use Use Multiple formats

What is my Engagment Strategy? The 3 I’s of Engagement … Interaction The action a person takes whilst present at those touch points Intimacy The affection a person holds for a brand Influence The likelihood a person is to advocate on behalf of a brand

Who am I Engaging With? Who are the new stakeholder groups that inhabit the digital world? Do I have an engagement strategy for each of them?

What has changed? … A Good Story is Still a Good Story … Good Writing is Still Good Writing … A Headline (or 140 character elevator pitch) is still what catches attention … Good relationship building is still what secures coverage What has changed Opportunity…Speed…Reach… Content Platforms What has not Changed The Fundementals of Good Public Relations

But beware of these people… …..There are a lot of them walking the streets!!!
