Three questions related to the LBS supported Emergency Call handling Replies are endorsed by the EUROGI Secretariat based on the request of HUNAGI at the EUROGI Extra Members’s Meeting held in Lisbon 16 November /4

Since 2003 European Legislation prescribes the LBS- supported enhanced Emergency Call handling (E 112) Critical issues are the speed and accuracy of the localization of the caller and the emergency site, the accessibility, reliability of geospatial data and related attributes used, the coordination, interoperability and communication of the emergency services 2/4

1 What is the average throughput time to locate the caller's position (by GPS coordinates or cell identification) in the Call Center and what is the location accuracy range required/achieved in your country? 2 What kind of geospatial databases are used? Which geospatial data related thematic layers are used in vector, and which in raster form for management including visualization? 3 Threats and advantages related to the use of open source solutions (eg. the NASA World Wind) in such a critical system? N.B. Please add notice if needed (e.g. new development ) 3/4

Your time and assistance is appreciated! 4/4
