Knowledge Economy IP System is crucial for rewarding inventors and investors intellectual and economic efforts An adequate IPRs system is extremely relevant for acquiring « Foreign Direct Investments » or for pushing foreign companies to transfer their technology in the country.

IP and SMEs n Dominant Position of Intangibles assets in the new Economy n 90% of enterprises existing in the market are SMEs –Presence in the market –Employment –GDP n 70% of products and services produced every day belong to SMEs n However, the use of the IP system from SMEs is dramatically low 2% –Weak knowledge of the IP system; –The system is considered to be too complex and articulated, need for external experts: Lawyers or Agents; –The system is perceived as expensive for SMEs, accessible only to gin enterprises.
