Ok, first off, what is language?  We define language as… A system of conventional vocal signs by means of which humans communicate

Great..so the basic root languages?  Root Language #1- Hamitic Abandoned SW Asia and N Africa  Egyptian

 Root language #2- Semitic Middle East, North Africa, and East Africa  Arabic and Hebrew

 Root Language #3- Indo- European Most major languages and dialects from Europe, as well as SW Asia, Central Asia, and South Asia

 So, what language root does English fall into?

Great, so what are our origins?  1. Indo- European  2. Germanic Typically spoken in roughly BC in Northern Europe
