CanmetENERGY Research Projects Affordable Net-Zero Energy Homes - Optimization and Integration of Renewable Energy Systems  The Affordable Net Zero Energy Homes project extends the Path to Net Zero initiative through an intensive evaluation and comparison of new and emerging approaches to the integration of renewable energy sources and energy conservation.

CanmetENERGY Research Projects Affordable Net-Zero Energy Homes - Optimization and Integration of Renewable Energy Systems  To do this, the Affordable Net Zero Energy Homes Project will follow a four-step work plan:  Review best practices and define methodology.  Assess technology and optimize performance. Model, analyze, and optimize the most promising existing and emerging technologies.  Affordable technology integration. CanmetENERGY Research Projects BIPV-T Systems for Homes  Focus is to select and test next-generation combined building- integrated solar photovoltaic and thermal (BIPV-T) energy generating systems specifically suitable for homes  Combined building integrated photovoltaic and thermal systems play an important role in achieving high degree of energy efficiency in homes and buildings.  This project focuses on the state-of-the-art review and feasibility of BIPV- T systems specifically for housing applications.  Plans to do field testing of roof integrated systems at CCHT and also for a track-built home in Ottawa.  State-of-the art review of BIPV-T by September  Field testing and monitoring results by December 2012.
