What is an economic crisis? Economic crises are periods of negative economic growth. This means that production levels are falling entailing a big increase in unemployment and a reduction in levels of trade and investment.

From what does the economic crisis emerge? Between , US banks gave many mortgage loans to people who have not a good grade and record as payers. This caused a high rise on house prices until 2006 and 2007, when prices began to drop. Those people who were not good payers stopped paying their loans to banks, which were seriously affected. On the other side, there were cuts in investment, failures and bankruptcies in enterprises that had businesses with banks.

What means unemployment and sub employment? Unemployment is an economic condition marked by the fact that individuals who actively seek for jobs remain unemployed. Sub employment is when people have a work but it´s not how they desire or want.

Which country has been the most affected by the crisis? According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) : Germany and Italy are the most affected economies in the Europe. Japan and Taiwan register the worst economic activity in Asia. United States and Mexico are the most affected in America.

Which country has been the least affected by the crisis? According to the International Monetary Fund (IMF): China is the least affected country by the economic crisis in Other countries that were not so negatively shocked are India, Indonesia and Peru.

Which countries have been the least affected in Latin America? The Peruvian economy is by large the least affected country in the region as a result of solid macroeconomic fundamentals.

How does Peru have been affected by the crisis?

How was Peru affected by the crisis? What gender has the highest and lowest percentage of unemployment? Women have the highest percentage of unemployment between July and September What ages has the highest and lowest percentage of unemployment? Young people have the highest level of unemployment in Lima. Between July and September 2009, between 14 and 24 years old were unemployed. On the other hand, the population between 25 and 44 years old have the lowest unemployment. What social sector has the highest and lowest percentage of unemployment? Since job losses are high in the manufacturing and construction sector, we could say that low income families are the most affected by the crisis and has the highest percentage of unemployment.
