Why is an International Résumé Different? When applying to a job abroad, there are may things to consider; Different countries have different expectations of an application package. In other areas of the world Résumés are expected to contain far more personal information. Even that level of info varies from place to place. The emphasis is placed on different areas of the résumé, depending on where you are applying.

Where am I applying? Different countries have different rules and requirements when it comes to job search. Knowing what those differences are could make or break your international job search.

Cultural Differences As compared to Canada other countries tend to want varying degrees of Personal Information. For Example: Date of Birth Marital Status Nationality Gender Religion Photo Family Status Proficiency in language of the country applying to (regardless of need as part of the position.)
