POWERPOINT A-Z Or how to create a really great PowerPoint presentation

KISS Keep it Simple, Silly. Use bullets, not long sentences Punctuate only if you have to No fancy fonts or sounds Support your topic with visuals

RULE OF 6 lines per slide 6 words on a line 6 seconds for the audience to “get” it. Try to follow the Rule of 6 as much as possible. Fill in additional information with your presentation.

NO JAZZ, MAN Use simple fonts Capital and lowercase letters Stick to 1 or 2 fonts No crazy slide transitions! Save “artistic” touches for last Need time to talk to your audience? Put in a filler slide

Catch the Rainbow Use bright colors Pastels are hard to see (Pastels are hard to see) Use dark letters/light background or dark background/light letters Watch Red and Green – some people are colorblind

Practice, Practice, Practice Do the fonts you used work on the computer you are presenting on? Does the computer work? Use sound effects only when necessary Do you know your topic? REALLY well?
