Recycle Or Die By: Michael Schwab 1992 for Bella Blue
LARGE
The use of LARGE color areas and fonts help grab a persons attention. It also makes the poster a lot more simple, which is more pleasing to look at compared to a poster with too many colors, text, or pictures.
To show people what they are doing to the Earth For people to start wanting to care about Earth and try to clean it up before time runs out People need to stop giving off gas from their vehicles. Earth is dying by the minute and we need to change the way that we live.
Created in 1991 Is part of a communication art graphics collection from 1992 One of the first posters made by Micheal Schwab mainly about keeping the Earth clean Made on recycled paper
There are parts of the poster that have shading to block out what isn’t the main point of the image. There is rhythm in the way that the shapes are placed, because of the shading. Some of the shaping is wavy to show form. The artist is showing that, by placing the image in the center of the poster, that the woman is the main point as well as the letters being in bold writing above her head.
Why did Micheal Schwab want to create “Recycle or Die” ? What year was the poster created? What do you think was Schwab’s main objective in making this poster?
