DIGITAL SEISMIC NETWORK OF UZBEKISTAN Ilkhom Alimukhamedov Institute of seismology Academy of Sciences

Seismological Institute of Uzbekistan Seismological Institute of the Academy of Sciences republic Uzbekistan was established on October 1, 1966 soon after the destructive Tashkent earthquake on April 26, The major scientific objective of the Institute is seismic zonation, estimation of seismic hazard and risk, long-term earthquake prediction.

In 1900, building of an underground foundation for seismic equipment begins, wherein horizontal pendulums of Repsold-Tselner was established and regular seismometric observation begin from May, In 1912 the station was equipped with new electromagnetic seismographs created by B.B.Golitsyn. The first seismic station in Uzbekistan, May 1901.

Grants In 2004 Uzbekistan seismologists had a grant from China government and 5 seismic stations (3 set of short-period system EDAS-3 and 2 set of the broadband system EDAS-24) were installed around Tashkent city. In 2006 within the framework of grant STCU #3394 the equipment was acquired and installation of 18 digital seismic stations on all the territory of Uzbekistan is made. Data transmission Number of stations (Tashkent, Andizhan, Fergana, Namangan, Mingtut, Samarkand, Khiva, Karshi) are connected by ADSL. The event files are automatically sending to FTP-server located in the Tashkent seismic observatory. From other seismic stations the event files are sending to server by dial-up after the operation of trigger. The WinQuake program is applied for summary processing. Planned seismic stations

The digital seismic monitoring system of the territory of Uzbekistan will answer to the following requirements: 1. The full covering of the territory by digital system of monitoring with registration of seismic events up to M≥1,5. 1.
