The Sun is known as a G2V star. It is the largest star located in the CENTER of our Solar System. Believe it or not the sun is not a perfect sphere. Many ridges are located on the Sun’s outer core. Temperature = Around 10,000°F at the surface and at the core it rises to about 27,000,000°F!! The Sun has no moons because it is a star. A full day rotation is 26.8 days. The sun does not have a full year rotation. The diameter of the Sun is 1,390,000 KM

The sun is made up of carbon, nitrogen, and oxygen makes up 1.5% of the Sun. The other 0.5% is made up of neon, iron, silicon, magnesium, and sulfur. The sun shines by burning off Hydrogen.
of the Solar System is the Sun. Light from the Sun takes approximately 8 minutes to reach Earth! The Sun generates Solar Wind. One millions Earths can fit in the Sun!
Every second the Sun loses 5 millions tons of material! If the Sun were to stop producing energy today, it would take 50 million years to fully effect Earth. Based on the average life of a G2 star the present age of the Sun is estimated to be 4.6 billion years old. (Half way through its lifetime.
