IT-AIS JINR Collaboration Administrative Information Services Continuous and very successful collaboration since 1994 Current Status: –4 PJAS from JINR in different IT-AIS projects –1 ex-JINR Fellow (started as fellow ) Spin-offs at JINR: –JINR Photo archive –Web Presentation Manager

IT-IS JINR Collaboration Internet Services Evgeny Tugarev is presently working in the CERN Web services. His activities are in the area of service development, improvement, maintenance and support Tasks Completed last year or assigned for 2005: –Design and implementation of a migration procedure of Web sites between sites hosted on IIS6 / server 2003 –Web-site restore procedure for sites on new Windows 2003 Server hosting infrastructure –Further developments of Web service and Components using.NET technology for CERN –Participation in the 3rd level Web support rotas

Internet Services (cont) Tasks assigned for 2005: –Participation of the redesign of the Web-services site –Evaluation of new technologies, e.g. ISA Server 2004 –Implementing a web-forum solution into CERN web infrastructure –Participation in the 3 rd -level Web support rotas Future plans –E-groups project - new collaborative tools for web uses including forum, blog

Collaboration in place since 1994 JINR provides 24 man-months per year Areas of collaboration are: –Support with updating and testing of current software –Support of CERN LabVIEW user database and product licensing –Installation of applications on servers –Updating of CERN LabVIEW web site –Training of JINR staff plus knowledge transfer is used directly at JINR and also for common experiments at CERN The collaboration has been shown to be effective and is providing support to an increasing number of users Both CERN and JINR propose to extend the collaboration and continue with a new agreement for a further period IT-CO JINR Collaboration Controls Group

In summary … Successful collaboration between JINR and CERN-IT for over 10 years Both JINR and CERN-IT are happy to continue within the overall collaboration framework Thanks to the management of JINR for the on- going support and the good collaboration
