Key Terms “Lead us” –Leading someone to a place where he is tempted is not the same as tempting him! (Matthew 4:1) “Temptation” –The word translated temptation can refer to “a test or trial” OR to an “enticement to sin” (James 1:2,13) “Evil” (or “the evil one”) –“Evil” can refer to moral evil (sin) as well as to tragedies, calamities, trials and persecutions. –The same word is used to refer specifically to Satan (Matt. 13:19, 38, Mark 4:15; Luke 8:12) –Paul faced “evil” or the “evil one” in both of these senses (2 Thess. 3:1-3; 2 Timothy 4:17-18)
