2014 Sermon Series 1) Ephesians 2) Judges 3) 1 Corinthians 1) Hiding God’s Word 2) Church series 3) Stressors 4) Money

Today: Since “walking different” is really hard, what will help us to consistently “let our light shine?” (Ephesians 4:17-24) Weeks 2-4: Some specific examples of how we should walk different (Ephesians 4:25 – 5:21)

You SHOULD walk different (4:17-19) I (Paul) am insisting that you must no longer live like those around you – those who are opposed to Christ and living immoral lives. You must walk different. This is HOW you walk different (4:20-24) 1)put off your old self 2)remember who you are in Christ 3)put on your new self

You SHOULD walk different (4:17-19) 17: don’t live like the Gentiles any longer : these Gentiles are closed to Christ and fully committed to immorality.

This is HOW to Walk Different (4:20-24) 1)put off your old self 2)remember who you are in Christ 3)put on your new self

This is HOW to Walk Different (4:20-24) 1)Put off your old self Therefore, just as sin entered the world though one man, and death through sin, in this way death came to all men. Romans 5:12

This is HOW to Walk Different (4:20-24) 1)Put off your old self The sinful nature desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the sinful nature. They are in conflict with each other, so that you do not do what you want. Galatians 5:17

This is HOW to Walk Different (4:20-24) 1)Put off your old self 2)Remember who you are in Christ 3)Put on your new self Anyone who is in Christ (a Christian) is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Corinthians 5:17 God made Christ, who had no sin to be sin for us so that in Him we might become the righteousness of God. 2 Corinthians 5:21

This is HOW to Walk Different (4:20-24) 1)Put off your old self 2)Remember who you are in Christ 3)Put on your new self For we know that our old self was crucified with Christ so that the body of sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin. Romans 6:6

This is HOW to Walk Different (4:20-24) 1)Put off your old self 2)Remember who you are in Christ 3)Put on your new self In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires…. For sin shall not be your master. Romans 6:11-14

Sin is not my master!
