About Michelle Michelle was born in Torrance, CA on July 7, 1980 Michelle Kwan’s parents were immigrants from Hong Kong, China She was the third child of Danny and Estella Kwan
Accomplishments When she was 13 Michelle came 8 th in the 1994 world championships Michelle took silver in the 1994 U.S. championships when she was 14 Michelle has won 5 world championships and 9 U.S. championships She has also achieved 54 perfect scores At the 1998 Winter Olympics she took the silver And in the 2002 Winter Olympics she won the bronze
Challenges Michelle was absent from the season because of a groin injury Trying to get the gold in the Olympics
Facts on Michelle Michelle Kwan’s Chinese name is Kwan Wing Shan( 關永山 ) She quoted “The Train Ride of Life and its sequential stops” when she made the decision to go to college and take a break from skating Michelle was appointed U.S. publicity diplomacy envoy in 2006 by the Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice
