Embedding the use of social media into the curriculum

“One of the greatest changes can be seen in the lives of children and young people, who are at ease with the world of technology and who communicate, socialise and participate online effortlessly... Children are increasingly embracing technology at a younger age...yet the classrooms of today don't reflect these changes.” Secretary of State for Education, The Rt Hon Michael Gove MP, to The Schools

“My son was lucky enough to be one of the group of students who went to Italy skiing during the February holiday, I would like to comment on how fabulous it was to be able to look and pictures daily and read the blogs by the students on the Radiowaves and school Facebook page. The blogs gave all parents an insight into the holiday and what fun the group was having”. Quote from parent

“Radiowaves is a brilliant social network for young children of today to increase awareness on current issues and contribute their own opinions. My son has been actively involved in Radiowaves since primary school. It has enabled him to keep abreast of latest news, build confidence in his journalistic skills and improve his communication, presentation and ICT skills. Catmose College has been instrumental in encouraging participation at events such as BETT and Olympia; developing students' social and academic skill set”.
