Presentation transcript:

In the Czech Republic, we fast all day before dinner. We shouldn‘t eat meat, ham or bacon – only vegetarian food. We do this because we want to see a golden pig.

Before we start to eat, we hold our hands and sit on the chairs at the same time. In some families people pray before and after dinner. We mustn‘t leave the table or stand up during dinner.

Dinner consists of potato salad, fish and some drink. After dinner we eat some sweets. We eat dinner between six and seven o‘clock. Our Christmas dinner is on Christmas day – - 24th December

On the table, there should be some garlic - against evil forces. The advent candles are lit. We listen to Christmas carols.

After dinner, we look under the plate. If we find there some money we get to know how much money we‘ll have next year. We shouldn‘t wash up, we should wait after unwrapping our presents.
