What is Global Entrepreneurship Week? Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEWGlobal Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) is the world’s largest celebration of entrepreneurship! During one week each November, GEW inspires people everywhere through local, national and global activities designed to help them explore their potential as self- starters and innovators. These activities, from large-scale competitions and events to intimate networking gatherings, connect participants to potential collaborators, mentors and even investors—introducing them to new possibilities and exciting opportunities. GEW is more than just an awareness campaign. It is a platform for connection and collaboration—engaging all players along the entrepreneurship spectrum in strengthening ecosystems around the world. As the Canadian host for the seventh year, Futurpreneur Canada is charged with the responsibility of catalyzing organizations and individuals across the country to join millions of people in over 160 countries as we celebrate GEW this November 16-22, 2015.

2015 Campaign Highlights Local Events and Partners – Individuals and organizations across Canada will host entrepreneurial events and register them on the GEW Canada site.GEW Canada site City Battle – An annual competition to find Canada’s Most Entrepreneurial City. More info here: Unleash Your Inner Entrepreneurs – A national outreach program made up of face-to-face and online workshops and videos to encourage young people to consider entrepreneurship as a viable career option. More info here: Government Relations – GEW will once again be officially recognized by various levels of government and celebrated at events with elected officials across the country. Media, Social Media and Blog Posts – Canadians will show their support for GEW and promote entrepreneurship on various platforms in November. In addition, Futurpreneur Canada will send “Roving Reporters” around the country to report on entrepreneurial activity in various Canadian cities. The official campaign hashtag is #GEWCanada.

Partner Recognition We are pleased to announce that in 2015, we will recognize the following partner levels to showcase high impact contributors: GEW Canada Trailblazer – Any organization that lists more than 10 GEW events will be recognized as a Trailblazer. These partners will receive a digital badge and certificate and will be recognized as a top level supporter on the website, through social media and on the blog. GEW Canada Community Champion – Any organization that hosts 10 entrepreneurship events in November will be recognized as a Community Champion. These partners will receive a digital badge and will be recognized as a second level supporter on the website and through social media. In addition, we recognize that while not everyone can host an event to celebrate GEW, many organizations and startups do an amazing job of celebrating through social media. Partners that use the campaign hashtag #GEWCanada on Twitter at least 25 times during GEW will be recognized as GEW Canada Buzz Builders.
