Quality Nights Last developments From 2007 to 2008

Introduction 2001 : Study with the public 2003 : First Chart, only with the clubs 2005 : Goals and methodology adapted 2006 : Study with the club owners and the party organisers Health promotion approach

Partners NGO Modus Fiesta, Modus Vivendi’s project Brussels Health Minister and his administration Local Center for Health Promotion in Brussels Party organisers and club owners Public enlarged to ALL the partygoers and not only drugs users

From february to september 2007 Participation process Definition of criteria with club owners and party organisers Communication process Among partygoers Implementation of criteria Training sessions began in march 2007

Sept 2007 Quality label is launched The charter is adopted by 11 places They engage themselves to provide services like : Free Water Condoms Ear plugs Health Informations Early Warning System Training of the Club staff

Summer 2008 we started the evaluation... control of effectiveness and visibility of criteria … of the Implementation : qualitative evaluation to identify obstacles to improve 100 %95 %Health Infos 86 %100 %Ear plugs 86 %100 %Condoms 57 %100 %Water

Communication …as a tool of sensibilisation : leaflets about noise, for parents …as a tool of participation : Interactive website, Facebook, myspace, newsletter …as a tool of promotion and visibility : stickers, cityplan, press and event

Major problems we met  Create an efficient partnership with the club owners and the party organisers and motivate them  Find a modus vivendi between commercial and healthness  Promote and promote again to the clubbers  Organise the training’s sessions with the staff  Create partnership with transport companies (Taxis, public transports,…)  Increase the visibility of the criterias

The future begins now… In 2008, 2 new venues joigned the brussel’s label and other candidates are coming… Collaboration with new means of transports : Noctis (night bus) and Collecto (collective night taxis) Extension of the label in Wallonia : step by step : by subregion In Europe : deposit of the name and the logo
