Future MPAT Activities Summary u Time Window 22 July – 10 Aug 01 - Concept and SOP Development Workshop #5 – Location: TBD u Time Window 28 Oct to 9 Nov 2001 – 6-day Tempest Express Staff Planning Workshop #3 – Location: TBD u July or Aug 2002 – 6-day Tempest Express Staff Planning Workshop #4 – Location: TBD u Late Oct to early Nov 2002 – 6-day Tempest Express Staff Planning Workshop #5 – Location: TBD

u Dates / Venue – 5-day event between 22 July and 10 Aug, Still soliciting host country u Purpose – To review various national planning procedures and to consolidate these into a common set of procedures that can be documented in an MPAT SOP. – Participants are asked to prepare a briefing or paper (to include a glossary of terms and acronyms) outlining their nation’s procedures. This needs to be posted on the MPAT web page NLT 1 July. – Participants will be asked to read and prepare an analysis of differences in national procedures. They will present/brief their findings during first two days of workshop. – The remaining three days will focus on synthesizing these procedures and writing a “common” set of procedures and related instructional materials / briefings for Nov TE Concept and SOP Development Workshop #4

u Dates / Venue – 6-day event in 28 Oct to 9 Nov window, Still soliciting host country u Purpose – To practice common crisis action planning procedures in a humanitarian assistance / disaster relief scenario-based staff planning workshop. – 5 ½ day event beginning Sunday afternoon through Friday – Training audience is MPAT, a CTF staff, and IOs, NGO’s, IGOs u Selected participants will stay an extra 2 days for post- workshop SOP refinement. MPAT “Supported” Activities u Nov 2001: SAGIP (See Brief) – Location: Manila (Tentative) – Armed Forces of the Philippines will extend invitations to selected countries for MPAT participation in this strategic – operational level seminar game (ASEAN focus) – Disaster relief scenario u Jan 2002: Joint Mission Force Wargame #4 – Location: Camp Smith, Hawaii – U.S. - led CTF SOP development game. Selected MPAT participation to provide coalition input to the U.S. Lead nation coalition SOP development process – Peace operations scenario
