X X X X X X Smaug leaves to attack Lake Town, allowing the party to enter his lair. Smaug is killed by a man from Lake Town (Bard), while the dwarves claim the treasure. X X X X X

X X X X X X The Lake Men and Wood Elves march on the Lonely Mountain. The dwarves refuse to share their treasure. Bilbo gives the men and elves the Arkenstone – Thorin’s greatest treasure. Dwarves loyal to Thorin arrive, and a battle begins. X X X X X
