CrossRef Annual Member Meeting London FL Policies 1.Participation in Forward Linking (FL) will be optional for CrossRef members 2.Members must deposit references from their current material to retrieve FL data (i.e. to retrieve “cited by” links). 3.Members may only retrieve FL data to display in primary articles that they own. Agents will be able to retrieve FL data on behalf of members who participate in FL and deposit references

Send references separately in a list format Build a ‘cited-by service that queries CrossRef for Forward Links Keep links up to date (respond to ‘alerts) On CrossRef Service is implemented to take advantage of low-utilization periods (heavy processing is batch scheduled, FL queries are very simple) Moderately increase already planned resource improvements Use of the service will gradually build, allowing appropriate staffing adjustments.
