Reception Grapes of Wrath was widely acclaimed by many critics Spectators related to the film, “It tackles one phase of the American social problem in a convincing manner” It emphasized the people rather than other topics

Criticism Grapes of Wrath was seen as a successful movie by critics However, some critics disliked it because of political overtones, “When released, the film was well received by the film critics, but it did have its detractors, especially because of its leftist political overtones” It was also praised for following the book so well

Modern Criticism Grapes of Wrath place 21 st on AFI’s Top 100 movies Today It is seen a historical classic Successful film based off the book
