Why using a pda? She has memories problem; Katie has long term memory which enables her to remember things like her name, her parents, and the year she was born, but if asked how old she is she needs to count to give the answer. She was hit by lightening six years a go, and that is how she became disabled. She did not have any disabilities before.

She is using this tool to organize her daily life. In this electronic device she has her class schedules, appointments with instructors and or other student among other things.

About this Personal Digital Assistant (pda) It is all-in-one smart-phone combining voice and communications, broadband-like wireless connectivity, and the power of Windows Mobile in a single, integrated device that can do it all. She can access web, play music or games. It is a higher/advanced organizer tool for her.

Setting up the alarm In Calendar select the event Select Details Check the Alarm box, and then select the number of minutes, hours, or days before the event you would like to receive the alarm Select OK. - When an alarm goes off, an alert is also displayed on the Alert screen. Select an alert’s description to jump to that item, or check the box to clear that alert

Other things she can do; Create an Untimed Event Schedule a Repeating Event Customize display options for her calendar Select alarm tones she likes Organize her tasks (due today, last 7 days, next 7 days, or past due categories)

When the task is done – Deleting it; Select the task you want to delete Open the menus Select Delete Task on the Record menu Select ok She also can check off a task by selecting it and then pressing Center button

Adjusting the Display and Appearance Depending on the lighting conditions in which she is using this device, she can adjust the brightness of the screen and keyboard backlight by doing the following steps; 1. Press Option, and then press Backlight 2. Press Left arrow or Right to adjust the brightness. 3. Then select Done.

Changing the Font She can change the font in Calendar, Contacts, Memos, e. t. c. (choices are small, small bold, large, and large bold 1. Open the application in which she wants to change the font 2. Open the menus 3. Select Options, and then select Font 4. Select a font style. (in the Web browser, select the Font size pick list and select Large or Small.) 5. Select OK
