World History (9/23)  Do Now: What inferences can you make about this place based on its geographical features? How is the geography similar to Mesopotamia and Egypt?

Once again, its rivers  The Indus  The Ganges  The Brahmaputra  These make agriculture possible  Life still centers around the monsoon -a seasonal wind  Winter-hot and dry from the northeast  Summer- wet from the southwest  Moisture from the Indian Ocean

Why so important?

Indus River Valley civilization  Lasted about 1,000 years  2500 BCE- emergence  1750 BCE-decline  1500 BCE-collapse  How does this civilization compare to those of Egypt and Mesopotamia?
