The who’s and whats of the advisory counsel (2909) 25 members from numerous organizations (private and public) What they do? – Determine substances (controlled or concern) – Design education courses – Analyze information from database – IDENTIFY ADDITIONAL MEMBERS????????

What needs to be done by dispensers? (2911 – 2913) Report electronically – At least every 14 days – Not more than every 7 days If not able to send electronically, may ask to be written Facts collected – Data on Prescriber, patient, dispenser drug, prescription

What happens if you don’t submit (2915) The licensing agency of the person regulates the person – Board of pharmacy only involved in pharmacy

Accessing the data (2917 – 2921) Who may access the data collected? (2917) – Persons authorized to dispense or prescribe – People from licensing agencies – Medicaid people looking at Medicaid patients – People from the computer company How to register? (2919) – Must take orientation course – Complete an application – BOP ensures applicant has a licenses – BOP gives password, but can take away.

Accessing the data (2917 – 2921) How to access the data – Through internet from prescribers and dispensers – Must be credentialed – Law enforcement with Court order Grand jury subpoena Administrative request

Unlawful use of data (2923) You get bounced to your board (pharmacy for you)

Clean up of the chapter (2925 – 2931) Data may be released for research purposes – All ID must be washed though Leges still have oversight, and must be reported to Board of Pharmacy must evaluate the program Veterinarians are exempt if dispensing to their own patients.
