Two great presidents….. George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

George Washington was our first president.

He married Martha Washington.

He lived at Mount Vernon in Virginia.

Storytellers tell us that George Washington cut down a cherry tree his father had given him. When his father asked him if he had cut the tree down, he could not tell a lie and said yes I did.

He wore three cornered hats.

He is on a quarter.

He is on a dollar bill.

This is the Washington Monument that helps us remember all he did for us.

He is one of the presidents who is on Mount Rushmore. This is a rock monument.

Abraham Lincoln was our 16 th president.

He liked to read and do math.

He married Mary Todd Lincoln.

He lived in a log cabin.

He is on a penny.

He is on a five dollar bill.

He wore a top hat.

He is on Mount Rushmore, too!

This is the Lincoln Memorial. It helps us remember what he did for us.
