Covington Cultural District

Received designation on October 1, 2008 Initial boundaries were of Covington’s Historic Downtown District District consisted of approximately 36 city square blocks Represented by an array of art galleries, artist studios, and home of the St. Tammany Art Association

Covington Cultural District Expanded Applied for expansion in January 2012 Received designation July 1, 2012 Two areas of focus West 30’s Unincorporated St. Tammany Parish (Properties that have Covington addresses) Building stock in these two areas that may qualify as historic in nature are largely in a state of disrepair and in need of preservation.

Covington Cultural District Staff Staffed through the City of Covington Department of Cultural Arts and Events Works closely on art projects and promotions of the district with the: St. Tammany Art Association Covington Heritage Foundation (spinoff from the 2013 Covington Bicentennial Committee) Three Rivers Art Festival White Linen Night (proceeds donated to the Public Arts for Covington Fund)
