Korea Living Styles and Housing Hailey Kim Tanner Leonard

South Korea Over 80% of the South Korean population live in an urban area. They usually have one child per family, so the children are able to have their own bedroom. They live in apartments clustered together in apartment villages. 533 square feet

North Korea Only the healthy and important government members are allowed to live in Pyonyang. These people dwell in high rise apartments, while the more ill or criminally active people live in the country side in small homes. However, sixty percent of the population lives in urban areas. Most Korean children do not have their own bedroom due to the small living spaces they are allotted. However, you may have your own bedroom if you’re an only child. On average, there are usually two children in a family, meaning that there are an average 4 citizens to 1 home/apartment. Most, if not all homes are very small, with only a living space, small kitchen, and few bedrooms.
