Aim: How does political culture help to unite Americans? Do Now: 1. What is political culture? 2. What is an example of political culture?

Political culture is a society’s framework of shared values, beliefs, and attitudes concerning politics and government. Example: The strong sense of patriotism after the 9/11 terrorist attacks of 2001. Many people flew flags.

I. Americans’ Shared Political Value 1. Liberty-free and open society 2. Equality-Opportunity for all 3. Democracy-people should hold leaders accountable 4.
